Missing piece
Our theme is natural which means things that come out of nature and no one can control. Some of these things happen with no explanation at all. Sometimes things happen that we can't control and wish didn't happen but you have to deal with it.
Lyrics:
I found pieces of a puzzle laid out but it doesnt fit.
Thinking hard about the only way out - that we're trapped in. Some shapes don't belong on this earth that we're in. Man kills man in acts of war - is that a disease? Those who havent fell will soon fall. - that's what they make us believe. Have we talking out before? Help this to cease If it's not a virus, it's a gun - Very puzzling piece. in the distance I see cars speeding in the streets Whatever flows out leaves a trail from the factories Toxic air coming through. it's a film of smoke. DIrt's dried up and crops and dying - Tell are all around us. Ground keeps shaking it's unstable - hear the rumbling Watch it every day on cable- our earth is crumbling. I'll be there when you need me - hold on to the rope. Just keep trying, keep believing - At least we still have hope |
What they really Mean:
The lyrics in our song are all about destructive things that are out of our control. This song is about a boy in Africa and how conflict with natural disasters and disease were affecting him. His father died from Ebola and his mother has Aids. Their city is overpopulated and suffering from climate change. He has a younger brother and has to fill the role in being the "man" of the house. The young boy retrieves an old puzzle from under his bed, which represents life and the hardships he has currently been going through. As he tries to piece it together, he realizes some pieces won't fit and that throughout the years he has lost some. He relies on the picture of the puzzle on the front of the box to know where everything falls into place. It is like look at the "bigger picture" in life. When you believe that nothing can get better, you have to take a step back and look at how far you have come. Not all of the pieces in life will fall together perfectly or even at the same time; sometimes you have to shape it and work with whatever life gives you. In the song the boy realizes it is too soon to be able to finish the puzzle and leaves it incomplete, accepting it is not time for him to grow up and take on the world's challenges yet.

AIDS, STD's, and Ebola are all viruses and diseases. These diseases are all fatal and will effect whoever is effected with this disease's entire life. These diseases are spread from person to person very rapidly. Sometimes unintentionally sometimes not. These diseases were not man made they came naturally. Although by being careful and protecting yourself you can control whether or not you get infected with this disease sometimes that protection is not enough and unfortunately you might still get infected. And in regions like Africa where the people are not educated about the cause, effect, and prevention methods of these diseases it is spread more rapidly. Also because of the extreme sexual violence in Africa and the myths about how someone can cure themselves of their diseases even young children of 11 and 12 are being infected.
Climate change, natural disaster, and over population are all also natural. Obviously, as you can tell by the name, natural disasters occur naturally. These disasters include hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos, tornados, and more. Disasters like these will tear through cities destroying everything in their path including homes and families. No one can control these, although people do have tools to predict when these disasters will occur allowing people to evacuate. But unfortunately they're sometimes too late or don't even catch it at all, and even when they do the people who evacuated will not be able to return to their homes. For most people it is very hard to bounce back from these tragedies and get their lives back.
