World of change
First Verse
My problems are higher than the sun I need to tell someone I'm sick almost all the time No answers no come from the sky I look around a bad world is what I see Somebody please...won't you help me! Help me please |
The first verse introduces us to our narrator(s). Our narrator suffers from disease, he/she is very lost, and doesn't know what else to do with himself. His days are numbered because of his disease. It has ruined his life, and he is ready to give up. He looks around, and sees that the world is a rough place. As a result, he has lost all hope of having a normal life. Our narrator doesn't know what to do now. He has one choice left and that is to ask for help. Will he get the answers he wants? Or will he be left lost?

Second Verse/Chorus
In this world of the same Everybody wants some change And I know some way We could be the answer that we pray If you open up your eyes Then your ears...they will supply It's the something in the sound That makes us change |
In the second verse, we jump right into the chorus. In this verse our narrator starts to get some answers to his questions. The chorus explains how everybody wants to see change in this world, everybody wants to overcome their disease. Sometimes however, we are blind to answers that may be in front of us , we spend too much time complaining, and not enough time doing something about our problems. Although our narrator is at the end of the road, and may not beat his disease he can still help the future generation to not go through what he is currently going through.

Third Verse
The drugs don't work and I'm crying streams Why must we live with this horrible disease Sometimes I feel like this life is done for me I'm feeling crushed like a autumn leaf Broken as the coral reef.. oh no. Why must I live with this disease...oh no Fourth Verse
I want to rise to see the sun Before the last of my days are done I don't know how long I'll be here But I won't live...won't live my life in fear |
In this line our narrator is responding to the answers he has just gotten, he is still complaining but is now starting to understand that he can't keep living the way he has been. He can't keep living in his own depression. "The drugs don't work" and yes "He may be crying streams". But even if he is feeling broken, he still can't give up just yet.
In this verse our narrator finally has his epiphany, he realizes that falling into a depressed state won't get him anywhere. He vows that each day he will face his fears, he won't allow his disease to beat him. He doesn't know what the future holds but he knows that he's done worrying about it.

Lyrics:
My problems are higher than the sun
I need to tell someone
I'm sick almost all the time
No answers no come from the sky
I look around a bad world is what I see
Somebody please...won't you help me!
Help me please
(Chorus)
In this world of the same
Everybody wants some change
And I know some way
We could be the answer that we pray
If you open up your eyes
Then your ears...they will supply
It's the something in the sound
That makes us change
The drugs don't work and I'm crying streams
Why must we live with this horrible disease
Sometimes I feel like this life is done for me
I'm feeling crushed like a autumn leaf
Broken as the coral reef.. oh no.
Why must I live with this disease...oh no
(Chorus)
In this world of the same
Everybody wants some change
And I know someway
We could be the answer that we pray
If you open up your eyes
Then your ears...they will supply
It's the something in the sound
That makes us change
I want to rise to see the sun
Before the last of my days are done
I don't know how long I'll be here
But I won't live...won't live my life in fear
(Chorus)
In this world of the same
Everybody wants some change
And I know some way
We could be the answer that we pray

Theme: "The world can't change unless we try to change it."
Why we wrote this song:
There are a lot of negative things that go on in this world. One of the main things that people have to face on a daily basis are issues with their health. Having problems with your health can bring a person down socially, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It is difficult for people to look back on the memories of when they were healthy in contrast to the situation they are currently faced with. Taking all of this into account helped to inspire us while writing this song. Separately we had written drafts of possible lyrics. Our musician we worked with, arranged bits of each of our lyrical contributions and set them so they could come together into our final product.
In our project we all researched different issues ranging from HIV/Aids, Measles, Drug Use, Organ Harvesting, and the Health of the Ocean; i.e coral reefs. It was difficult to include all of these aspects into a song, but somehow we made it all work. Our end product was a song that is both inspirational and uplifting. Our song “World of Change” , tells a story of how disease and health related issues can get a person down. When people are going through problems with their health, they can be blind to answers that are right in front of them. “World of Change" presents the idea, that we can't take life for granted and that we have to live each day to the fullest- sick or not. "The world can't change unless we try to change it."
